Mattia De Sciglio linked with AC Milan exit

that AC Milan could offload full-back Mattia De Sciglio at the end of the current season.

Widely regarded as one of Italy s hottest prospects, the 23-year-old has struggled to live up to the billing and has now also lost his place in the starting line-up at San Siro.

Despite being able to operate on either side of defence, De Sciglio finds himself behind Ignazio Abate and Luca Antonelli in the pecking order.

Nevertheless, he is still held in high regard by top European sides, with Barcelona and Juventus reportedly hot on his trail.

De Sciglio will probably be given a chance to prove his worth, but AC Milan may be tempted into selling the Italy international in the summer transfer window.

The highly rated full-back has so far amassed 78 Serie A a…

West Ham v Chelsea: Bilic seeking home comforts

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has called on his players to turn their inconsistent home form around when struggling Premier League champions Chelsea visit Upton Park on Saturday.

Bilic s side have been a surprise success story on the road this season, winning four and drawing the other of their five matches away from home in 2015-16 a run that includes victories at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, that contrasts sharply with their results in front of their own fans, with just four points taken from as many outings.

In the club s last season at Upton Park before their move to the Olympic Stadium, it is hardly the send-off the West Ham faithful would have wanted for the famous old ground, and Bilic is keen to turn things around.

We have to…

Fulham looking at Musacchio

Fulham are eyeing a move for Milan defender Mateo Musacchio, according to the Metro.

The London outfit are looking to strengthen their back line after a less than ideal start to life back in the Premier League.

Fellow defenders Calum Chambers and Alfie Mawson arrived in the summer, but they have been unable to stop the Cotttagers from shipping twenty-one goals – the most in the division.

They were part of a £100m spending free undertaken by the club to re-establish themselves among the elite, and the club are ready to spend again once the transfer window reopens.

Musacchio moved to Milan from Villareal in the summer of 2017 and has since racked up twenty-nine appearances in all competitions with his one and only goal for Italian giants so far com…

Mata: Varela playing like a Manchester United veteran

Juan Mata has hailed Guillermo Varela s recent development and feels the Uruguayan defender has been playing like he has been at Manchester United for a decade.

Varela joined United from Penarol in June 2013, but initially struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford due to the stiff competitions for places.

He has become a first-team regular in recent weeks as Louis van Gaal has been forced to turn to youth amid a growing injury crisis at Old Trafford, and Mata is impressed with Varela s rise to prominence.

I m very pleased and I m very happy for him because he is doing very good on the right side, Mata told MUTV.

He s going forward, he s defending very well, he s being aggressive and he s performing like he has been playing for 10 years before.

Mason Greenwood arrested for breach of bail conditions

Mason Greenwood has been arrested over an alleged breach of his bail conditions.

The Manchester United forward was arrested in January on suspicion of rape and assault. He was also questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Greenwood was suspended from playing or training with United shortly after the allegations emerged on social media.

The England international was subsequently released on conditional bail, which was extended in April and then again in June.

Stats Perform understands Greenwood was arrested at his home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, following an alleged breach of his bail conditions.

In a statement provided to Stats Perform, Greater Manchester Police said they were aware of an allegation regarding a 21-year-old man breach…

Ligue 1 preview: Top four in pre-Christmas jostle

Lille, Paris St Germain, Rennes and Lyon will be all vying for top spot in Ligue 1 on Wednesday as French football heads into its winter break.

The final round of matches before Christmas starts on Tuesday, when 10th-placed Montpellier visit 12th-placed Montpellier at Stade du Moustoi.

But the real interest centres on Wednesday s games with one point separating the top four sides.

Lille are on top with 31 points, level with second-placed Paris St Germain and Rennes, with Lyon a point further back in fourth, although Rudi Garcia s Lille side do have a game in hand over the chasing pack.

The leaders, who host sixth-placed St Etienne, will be hoping for more good form from Senegalese striker Moussa Sow whose 13 goals so far this campaign have helped his sid…

Who will be the next Liverpool manager?

Liverpool has parted company with boss Roy Hodgson. The veteran coach has been under pressure for a large amount of his six months tenure and he has been living on borrowed time for awhile.

The Liverpool fans have made their feelings clear about the managerial situation and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish will take charge of the team until the end of the season.

Out of his depth

I like Roy Hodgson but at Liverpool he was completely out of his depth.

Liverpool are still one of the most famous names in football, yet Roy still conducted himself like he was still at Fulham. He still had a midtable mentality and that’s not good enough for Liverpool.

Replacement

Liverpool’s owners now have to find a replacement for the veteran boss. It’s …

Griezmann backs Juve to win Champions League and Buffon for Ballon d´Or

Antoine Griezmann tipped Juventus to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final, while endorsing Gianluigi Buffon for Ballon d Or honours.

Italian giants Juventus will meet defending European champions Madrid in the final in Cardiff on June 3.

The Serie A titleholders have not won the Champions League since 1995-96 but Atletico Madrid star Griezmann believes Juve will reign supreme at Millennium Stadium, allowing iconic captain and goalkeeper Buffon to pip Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to the coveted individual award.

Juventus will win the Champions League and therefore Gigi Buffon the Ballon d Or, Griezmann told Cadena Ser s El Larguero.

Runners-up last season and in 2014, Atletico almost reached back-to-back finals but the capital club were st…

Sanchez to be offered mega-money to stay put

The Mail Online understands that Arsenal are ready to offer Alexis Sanchez a £270k-per-week contract as they strive to retain his services.

The forward is holding out for £300k-per-week and the proposed deal is loaded with incentives taking it closer to that figure though one thing the Gunners cannot offer is Champions League football, after they only managed to secure a fifth place finish in the Premier League.

Bayern Munich are one of the sides keeping an eye on the situation while fellow European heavyweights Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are also in the running to secure his services.

Sanchez moved to the Emirates Stadium from Barcelona in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up one hundred and forty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring …
