Euro 2012 and 2010 World Cup semi-finalists Germany began their qualification campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to the Faroe Island on Friday.
But neighbours Austria are likely to prove a tougher challenge for Joachim Loew s team, with Flick impressed by the work of their Swiss coach Marcel Koller.
They have some players from the Bundesliga and those players are important in their teams, Flick said.
Since last year they have a coach, with Marcel Koller, that installed a system into the team.
They defend very well and we know from the last match in Vienna, they switch well after losing the ball. With (Martin) Harnik and (Marko) Arnautovic, they have players with high quality.
So it will be an interesting clash for us. We need to be concentrated from the beginning against them.
Veteran striker Miroslav Klose is hopeful of a chance to impress against Austria, although Bayern Munich s Mario Gomez is likely to start ahead of his former club colleague.
Loew knows me, he knows that I always try to help the team, Klose said.
If that s through goals the better it is, but Austria is not an easy adversary.
They have eight or nine players from the Bundesliga in their team and we know that s a good league. Everybody can beat everybody there, so I think Austria has a good team. And with Marcel Koller also an excellent coach.
